Heitkamp to give final address Tuesday

BISMARCK - Outgoing North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp will give a final speech on the U.S. Senate floor Tuesday, Dec. 4.

The speech will air on CSPAN2 at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, a spokeswoman for the Democratic senator said.

Heitkamp was defeated by Republican Rep. Kevin Cramer during the Nov. 6 election. His victory, boosted by two campaign visits from President Donald Trump, helped Republicans maintain their Senate majority.

Heitkamp is the only Democrat holding elected statewide office in North Dakota. She's a former state tax commissioner and attorney general who was elected to the Senate by a razor-thin margin in 2012.
