Experienced outdoorsman selected to lead outdoor coverage for Forum Communications
ALBERTVILLE, Minn. — The former publisher of several nationally recognized fishing publications and websites will lead Forum Communications Co.’s expansion of its outdoors coverage.
Steve Hoffman began Monday, Nov. 5, as Forum Communications Co’s outdoors editor.
He will be based in Albertville and work for Forum News Service, which is operated by the family-owned company. Forum Communications owns properties in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Since January, Hoffman has been a freelance writer for several outdoor magazines and websites.
Prior to working independently, he worked for nine years as group publisher for Outdoor Sportsman Group, where he managed the editorial, sales and marketing teams in print, digital and broadcast for In-Fisherman, Fly Fisherman, Florida Sportsman and BassFan. He also previously served as editor, managing editor and publisher for In-Fisherman.
“Steve will be a tremendous addition to our company,” said Steve Wagner, director of content for Forum Communications. “His vast experience in writing, editing and video production will complement our efforts to reach audiences looking for great outdoors content.”
Hoffman will help revive and expand Northland Outdoors on the brand’s digital, TV and social media platforms, lead outdoors multimedia content efforts and collaborate with outdoors reporters at FCC’s various properties.
“Our audience is passionate about the outdoors and they have a wide variety of interests,” Wagner said. “We’re excited for Steve to join our efforts to deliver great stories and videos across the Upper Midwest.”
Forum News Service distributes news, sports, outdoors and other specialty journalism content to more than 120 newspapers, including about 100 in Minnesota.
